2) 9th May 2015 - Hindustani Jugalbandi Music.

Hindustani Jugalbandi Music Concert by Radhika Joshi - Vocal, Nikhil Patwardhan-Sitar and Partho Mukherjee- Tabla from 5:45 PM. Prior to this concert, students of Poorvi Sangeeth Academy presented Hindustani Vocal, directed by Teacher Smt. Anitha Hegde from 5-.30 PM.
 

 
 
3) Guru Poornima Celebrations - 2nd August 2015

The Academy organized the Guru Poornima celebrations in Indira Eye Clinic, 7th Main, 9th Cross, Malleswaram. The first event was Bhakti Sangeet by Ganesh Desai along with Vid. R Dayakar on Violin and Vid. Raghavendra Joshi on Tabla. He rendered melodious hindi bhajans and Dasara padagalu in kannada. This was followed by a karnatic concert by Vid. Rekha Harinath along with Vid R Dayakar on violin and Vid. G S Nagaraj on Mridanga. She sang devaranamas.

Both the events went off very well.

 

4) 29 Aug 2015 (Saturday)

Vid.  Vamshidhar.V of Mysore gave a wonderful karnatic classical flute recital along with Vid. M S Govinda swamy on violin, Vid. V S Rajagopal on Mridanga and Vid. Bhagyalakshmi M Krishna on Morching, on the occasion of  Birth Centenary Music Event of MVV which was a Sponsored Programme by Sri. M K Krishna.                             

 
 

5) 3rd Oct 2015

POORVI SANGEETH ACADEMY of Malleswaram, Bangalore, had recently organized a workshop on Kannada Bhavageethe by the renowned kannada cine playback singer and Sugama Sangeetha Singer, Smt. Kasturi Shankar from 27th September to 2nd October 2015 in the Academy class premises.

About 22 interested singers had participated in the week long event, and on 3rd October, before the main event, ie sugama sangeetha performance of Kasturi Shankar, these participants gave a group performance of the songs learnt from her, and received a certificate and a audio CD containing the songs learnt from the workshop. Sri M K Krishna, Program Executive of the Academy gave a start to the evening with a warm welcome to the audience.

The main artist of the evening, Smt. Kasturi Shankar was welcomed and introduced to the audience by the Academy's president, Dr. B R Padmanabha Rao. After the brief introduction, she took over and started her performance with her golden voice. She sang popular numbers of various poets which was very well received by the audience. The songs were as follows :

  1. “Om Sachidananda” –Poet : Ku.vem.pu, Music & Singer: Mysoru ananthaswamy.
  2. “Banda chaitrada haadi teredide” – Poet: Dr. G S Shivarudrappa, Music & Singer – Kasturi Shankar.
  3. “Shanbogara magalu”- Poet : K S Narasimha swamy, Music – C Ashwath.
  4. “ Yaaravva ee cheluva”- Poet: Chandrashekara kambara.
  5. “ Hogu manase hogu” - Poet: M N Vyasa Rao, Music & Singer-Yashwanth – Halibandi.
  6. “ Ondiralu kanasinali”- Poet: K S Narasimha swamy, Music- C Ashwath, Singers- Ashwath & Rathnamala Prakash.
  7. “Yelli jaarito manavu”- Poet: Dr. N S Laskhminarayan Bhatta, Music & Singer- Mysoru Ananthaswamy .
  8.  “ Kanada kadalige” – Poet: Dr. G S Shivarudrappa, Music & Singer- C Ashwath.
  9. “Yede tumbi hadidenu”-Poet: Dr. G S Shivarudrappa, Music  & Singer- Mysoru Ananthaswamy.

Smt. Kasturi Shankar was ably accompanied by Sri Pancham Halibandi (son of Late Yashwant Halibandi) on vocals, Sri. Abhishek on Keybaord, & Sri Karthik on Tabla.
 

In all, the event was a success, thanks to the Artists and the workshop participants. The audience left for the evening with a good feeling in their hearts.

 

6) 22 Nov 2015

60th Kannada rajyothsava celebrations were celebrated was celebrated at  Indira Eye clinic premises from 10 AM wherein students of the Academy sang various kannada patriotic songs for the occasion.

 

 

 

7) 6 Dec 2015 - 3rd Anniversary of Poorvi.

3rd Anniversary celebrations at Bhumika, MEWS, 17th cross, Malleswaram from 4.30PM. Dr. B R Padmanabha Rao, President of the Academy gave a very melodious karnatic classical concert, followed by Sabha Program wherein popular Kannada Music director, Hamsalekha was the Chief guest. The Poorvi Puraskar was awarded to the senior sugama sangeetha artist, viz. GARTHIKERE RAGHANNA. This was followed by a sugama sangeetha concert by the Popular Sugama Sangeetha singer & kannada cine playback singer Sri. Ramesh Chandra along with D Ravi on keyboard, Raghavendra Joshi on Tabla and Shashikar B K on rhythm pads. This event was held in Bhumika hall, malleswaram 17th cross, Bangalore-55.

 

8) 30th Ja 2016 - 121st Da Ra Bendre Birth Anniversary Celebrations at Dharwad.
At the Invitation of Dha.Ra.Bendhre Raashtriya Smaaraka Trust, Dharwad, On the eve of 121st Birth Centenary Celebrations of Da.Ra.Bendre and Ambikathanayadatta Rashtriaya Prashasthi Award, on 30th January 2016, Namma Poorvi Sangeeth Academy, Bangalore was blessed to present Two Hours Music & Dance Programme - "BENDHRE GEETHOTHSAVA 2016"

POORVI's Pravesha - After Mulubagalu, Mallur, Madras - now entering Dharawad Beginning with adjascent Jillas to Neighbouring State & stepping to Upcountry Karnataka - Education, Kannada & Cultural Capital of Northern Geography

PSA Troupe presented all Bendhre's Songs selected & popular ones numbering 20 Songs, from 7pm to 8.30pm, followed by Niviedita Sharma's Dance for 30 mts.

Event was flagged off by A.I.R - Station Director Sri.Srikanth Kulkarni, (Chief Guest) Dr.Shayamsundar Bidarkundi, Venkatesh Desai & Narasimha Paranjape of the Trust. Nadoja Chennaveera Kanvi (Poet) & Vetaran Ms.Anuradha Dhareshwar were present..

9) 6th March 2016 - 1st Poorvi Sangeeth Sanje

POORVI SANGEETH ACADEMY of Malleswaram with a view to encourage senior students and upcoming artists had organised 1st Poorvi Sangeeth Sanje Musical evening on Sunday 6th March 2016,  at Poorvi Premises, Malleswaram, Bangalore-3.

Dr. B R Padmanabha Rao, President of the Academy welcomed the artists and the gathering. He gave a brief note of the program, wherein he mentioned that this sort of programs will be held once in 2 months for all such senior and talented students of the academy with a view of encouraging the students. He also said that the same can be extended to our Faculties, members so as to make it an in-house event.

The main singers of the evening were Smt. Pallavi S Krishna, Soumya S, and Pramita Madhava. Accompaniments were provided by Sri.Hiremagaluru Pradeep on the Keyboard, Sri. Sharan Kumar on the Tabla, and Sri. Shashidhar on the rhythm pads.  

The Music performance commenced immediately thereafter. The songs rendered were as follows:

1.     ‘Guru Namana’ a series of Sanskrit slokas for which tune was composed by Sri Keerthi Kumar Badseshi.

2.     ‘ Poorvadigantadhi’ of Doddarange gowda, tune composed by Sri. S Somasundaram.

3.     ‘Beesu gali yeru tereya’ of Narasimha Paranjape, tune composed by Hiremagaluru Pradeep.

4.     ‘Yenee mahanandave’ of D.V.G, tune composed by Mysuru Ananthaswamy.

5.     ‘Ibbani haasu’ of Doddarange gowda, tune composed by Mysuru Ananthaswamy.

6.     ‘Nudisu veene’ of Raghavendra Ittagi, tune composed by S Somasundaram.

7.     ‘Kuniyonu Baara’ of Da Ra Bendre, tune composed by Yashwanth Halibandi.

8.     ‘Loka loke’ of Da Ra Bendre, tune composed by Mysuru Ananthaswamy.

9.     ‘Kogile’  of  Narasimha Paranjape, tune composed by Hiremagaluru Pradeep.

10.             ‘Doora bahudoora’ of KuVemPu, tune composed by Mysuru Ananthaswamy.

11.             ‘Ache mane subbammange’ of C R Sathya.

AND,

12.             ‘ Tanuvu Ninnadu’ of Kuvempu, tune composed by Mysuru Ananthaswamy.

The function was very well attended by the family members of the students and other members, which enthralled the music lovers, and enjoyed a full 1 hour musical treat and departed for the day with a happy feeling.

 
10) 12th March 2016: Karnatic Vocal Concert by Vid. Subhalakshmi Krishnamoorthy.
POORVI SANGEETH ACADEMY of Malleswaram had recently organised a Karnatic Classical Vocal concert jointly with Smt. Seethalakshmma & Sri M S Krishna Rao Memorial (co-sponsors), on Saturday 12th March 2016, at Bhumika, 17th Cross, Malleswaram, Bangalore-55.

Dr. B R Padmanabha Rao, President of the Academy welcomed the artists and the gathering. He introduced the Main Artist, Vidushi Subhalakshmi Krishnamoorthy to the artists. While doing so he mentioned that the artist is not only a Karnatic vocalist but also an Engineer working as a Senior Scientist at ISRO, Bangalore. He also thanked the co-sponsors, who were honoured with a momento and bouqet. The artists were also then honoured with bouquets.

The Music performance commenced immediately thereafter. The songs rendered were as follows:

Mrs. Krishnamoorthy commenced with a brilliant popular varna in raga hamsadhwani, Jalajakshi set to adi tala composed by M.Venkatasubba iyer.

The next krithi was Sree Mahaganapathi in raga Gowla set to Mishra chhapu tala composed by Muthuswamy Deekshitar.

The following krithi was the evergreen Bantureethi kolu composed by Sri Thyagaraja in raga Hamsanada set to adi tala. Govardhana giridhari in raga hindola set to roopaka tala of Muthuswamy Deekshitar was the next krithi.

The famous krithi Sarojadala netri in raga Shankarabharana set to vilambit adi tala composed by Shyama Shastri. This krithi was sung by M.S.Subbalakshmi at the UN. Immediately thereafter thani was presented by the percussion artists in a very brilliant manner.

She next presented the popular Purandaradasa devaranama- Venkatachalanilayam with a ugabogha in raga Sindhu bhairavi set to Aditala. Her next presentation was Giridhari in Mohana raga set to adi tala.

The popular Annamacharya krithi- Muddugare yashoda in raga Kurunji set to Adi tala was well presented.

She concluded her concert with a Tillana composed by Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma in raga Sumanasa Ranjini set to Khanda chhapu tala, after which Mangala was sung to draw the curtains down for the beautiful concert.

Sri. M K Krishna, Program Executive of the Academy proposed the vote of thanks.

She was ably accompanied by Vid. M.S.Govindaswamy on Violin, Vid. G.S. Nagaraj on Mridanga and Vid. Bhagyalakshmi M Krishna on Morsing.
