Events of 2021-22
REPORT OF 8th & 9th ANNIVERSARY AND 6th & 7th JAGADODHARANA PROGRAM FOR 2021-22, HELD ON SATURDAY 20th NOV 2021 AT SEVA SADAN, MALLESWARAM, BANGALORE-3
Poorvi Sangeeth Academy recently organized the 8th & 9th Anniversary and 6th & 7th Jagadodharana Music program in a modest way due to COVID-19, on Saturday 20th November 2021 at SEVA SADAN, Malleswaram, Bangalore-3.
As the name of the program is self indicative, the Jagadodharana event was also held here instead of Malooru due to Covid, along with the anniversary program. Also since 2020 was silent due to Covid, that year’s event was clubbed now and hence both years’ program was held now.
The event commenced sharply at 4PM with a welcome by the comperer Sri M K Krishna. This followed with the lighting of the lamp by the Trustees and the artists.
The event commenced immediately thereafter by Vid. Rekha Harinath- karnatic vocal, Vid. Rekha Prasad – karnatic vocal, Vid S Shashidhar- karnatic violin, Vid. B K Anantharam – karnatic flute, Vid. Shivakumar P – karnatic vocal, Vid. Venkatesh Josier – karnatic violin, Vid. Sangeetha Bhatkal – Hindustani vocal, Hiremagaluru Pradeep and Pratibha Nandan – Sugama sangeetha, M R Shivakumara swamy – guitar, concluded by Nivedita Sharma – Bharatanatya dance.
It was totally a in-house presentation by the Trustees and Faculty members due to covid restriction.
The whole event was covered live on Facebook and YouTube.
Vid. Ramanath on Mridanga, Vid. Venkatesh Josier on Violin, Vid. Anantharamaiah on Morsing and Tabla accompanied the artists.
The curtains drew after a wonderful presentation which kept the audience tapping to the lilting tunes and lyrics. The program was scarcely attended due to Covid, but many watched live on FB and YT. . .
