Events of 2023-24

REPORT OF TRI-MUSIC PROGRAM ORGANIZED BY POORVI SANGEETH ACADEMY ON SATURDAY 24th JUNE  2023 AT SEVA SADAN,

14th  CROSS  MALLESWARAM, BANGALORE-560 003.

Poorvi Sangeeth Academy had recently organized the first public music program after COVID-19, named as TRI-MUSIC PROGRAM on Saturday 24th June 2023 at SEVA SADAN, 14th cross, Malleswaram, Bangalore-03.

The event commenced at 9:45 AM sharp with a formal Lamp Lighting by the Trustees, Members and Artists present. The first event was a Hindustani Classical vocal by Sri Kedar M Kulkarni and Troupe which started off exactly at 10AM after a brief welcome and introduction of the artists by the compere-artist Smt. Prabha Inamdar. The artists were presented with a bouquet by Vid B K Anantharam (Vice President of Poorvi).

Sri Kedar Kulkarni started off his concert with a vilambit ektaal – “Ja re khagawa” in raag shuddh sarang from Kalyan THAAT, which is a late morning raag. Then he presented madhyalay and drut teental  “Ab mori baat” in same shuddh sarang. Lastly he sang a devaranama – “Endu kaambeno nand gopana” in Rupak taal.

Sri Surya Upadhyay  on Harmonium,  Sri Dattatreya Joshi on Tabla, Sri Kedar Diwakar and Sri. Avadhoot Jathar on Tanpura gave a valuable support to the artist.

Sri Kedar Kulkarni was blessed by his guru Pt. Sharan Gurjar who graced the occasion. He was presented with a bouquet by Sri M K Krishna.

 

With a short break for Tea/Coffee, the second event commenced by 11AM. Again the artists were introduced to the audience by Prabha Inamdar. Bouquets to the artists were given away by Vid. Rekha Prasad (Trustee & Faculty of Poorvi).

Vid Lakshmi Varun immediately thereafter started off her concert with various krithis and devaranamas as follows:

  1. “Vande Guru Vallabham” of Sri Annamacharya in Raga Hamsadhwani set to khanda chhapu tala.
  2. “Naada sudha rasa” of Sri Thyagaraja in Aarabhi raga set to rupaka tala.
  3. “Paripahimam sri vasudeva” of Mysuru Vasudevacharya in raga Shubhapantuvarali set to Aditala.
  4. Lastly a devaranama of Sri Vadiraja – “Ava kulavo ranga” in vasanthi raga set to mishra chhapu tala.

She was very well supported on Violin by Vid. Karthikeya and on Mridanga by Vid Srinivas B R.

Immediately thereafter a video presentation of the newly launched website of Sri Hiremagaluru Pradeep (Mg. Trustee of Poorvi).  It was a video presentation wherein it showed the complete website of Sri Hiremagaluru Pradeep with its website address as “hech-pee.com”. It showed the complete website with all details like About Hp, Gallery, Youtube links etc.

Later Poorvi sangeeth academy’s website which was launched wayback in 2014, was once again presented for the benefit of the viewers who were unaware of it. Here too it was a video presentation of the website whose address is “www.poorvisangeethacademy.com. “ It showed the complete website with all details like Trustees, Faculty, Classes, Youtube links etc.

 

Around 12:15 PM, the Sugama Sangeetha event being the last for the session, started with a welcome and brief introduction of the artists by Prabha Inamdar. The main singer Shravya was graced by her father and mentor in music, Sri Srinivas D (the famous guitarist of Ede tumbi hadidenu and other realty shows).

She presented popular songs as follows:

  1. “Elli ninna leele taaye” of Dr. N S Lakshminarayana Bhatta with music composed by B V Srinivas.
  2. “Muchhu mare illadeye” of Ku Vem Pu with music scored by Mysuru Ananthaswamy.
  3. “Hadu kogile” of Venkatesh Godkhindi with music also scored by him.
  4. “Naaku tanti” of Da Ra Bendre with music by Mysuru Ananthaswamy.
  5. “Antaratama” of Ku Vem Pu by music composed by Mysuru Ananthaswamy.
  6. “Deepavu ninnade gaaliyu ninnade” of K S Narasimha Swamy with music composed by C Ashwath.
  7. “Ede tumbi hadidenu” of Dr G S Shivarudrappa with music composed by Mysuru Ananthaswamy.

Shravya was ably supported by her father and mentor Sri D Srinivas on Guitar, Sri Dushyanth on keyboard and Sri Lokesh on Tabla.

With a vote of thanks by Sri Hiremagaluru Pradeep, all the audience left the auditorium with a feeling of happiness after listening to all the three-music sessions and also with a sumptuous lunch provided by Sri Arun- the caterer.

On the whole, the entire event went off successfully.
