Events of 2024-25
Poorvi Sangeeth Academy and Sunada Bharati had recently organized Dr. Mani Krishnaswamy Memorial Music Concert on Saturday 15th July 2024 at SEVA SADAN, 14th cross, Malleswaram, Bangalore-03.
The event commenced at 10:30 AM with a formal Lamp Lighting by the Trustees, and Artists present.
Vid. B K Anantharam welcomed the audience and introduced the artists of the event., viz., Karnatic Vocal Concert to all. The artists were Ganakalabhooshana Vid. R A Ramamani on Vocal (a very senior artist), Vid. Vaibhav Ramani on Violin, Vid. Arjun Kumar on Mrudanga and Vid. G Omkar on Ghata. They are all senior, leading and popular artists in Bangalore
Later Bouquets were given away to the artists by B K Anantharam, & Hiremagaluru Pradeep.
Without wasting any time, the concert started off immediately with the following krithis :
- “ Neranami ” varna of Puchi Srinivasa Iyengar, in raga Kanada set to Atta tala.
- “Lambodara mavalambe” of Mysoru Vasudvachar in raga Kamboji set to Rupaka tala.
- “ Kamalambike” of Sri Jayachamarajendra Wadeyar in raga Nattai set to Adi tala.
- " Abhimanamadu " of Patnam Subrahmanya Iyer in raga Begade set to Adi tala.
- “ Gurucharanam ” of Bellary M Sheshagiri Achar in raga Gaangeya bhushani set to Adi tala.
- “ Pankaja lochana pahi ” of Swati Tirunal in raga Kalyani set to Mishra chhapu tala.
- “ Thattha dhimitha Hari ” of Purandaradasaru in raga Hamsanandi set to Adi tala.
Vid. R A Ramamani was very well supported on Violin by Vid. Vaibhav Ramani, on Mrudanga by Vid Arjun Kumar and on Ghata by Vid. G Omkar.
With a vote of thanks by Vid. Rekha Prasad who was the main organizer of Sunada Bharati and the main architect of the concert in memory of her guru Dr. Mani Krishnaswamy, was all praise for the artists and her guru. She gave a glimpse of her mentor and guru’s disciplined life and teachings which made her a better karnatic vocal artist, teacher and guide for the generations to come.
All the audience left the auditorium with a feeling of happiness after listening to the divine music concert, and also the sumptuous lunch provided bu Sunada Bharathi. On the whole, the entire event went off successfully.
