Poorvi 12th Anniverssary on 15th Dec 2024
Poorvi Sangeeth Academy recently organized its 12th ANNIVERSARY on Sunday 15th December 2024 at SEVA SADAN, 14th cross, Malleswaram, Bangalore-03.
Compereing artist, Sri. Vijaykumar bhartur took over the podium and welcomed all artists and gathering for the successive 12th Anniversary function.
The event commenced at 10:00 AM with a group singing of Naada Geete (Jaya bharatha jananiya tanujate) and formal Lamp Lighting by the Guests and Artists present.
Sri Hiremagaluru Pradeep (Managing Trustee, Poorvi Sangeeth Academy) welcomed the Guests, Artists and the audience for this grand function.
Immediately thereafter various eminent artists and their sugama sangeetha school students in groups rendered the Bhavageethe songs penned by Dr. Ka Vem Srinivasa murthy.
In between a break was given for Sabha Program. The Chief guest was Pt. Vishwanath Nakod (eminent Music Artist), and the President on the occasion was Dr. Ham Pa Nagarajaiah (senior eminent writer).
Pt. Vishwanath Nakod was introduced to the audience by Vid. B K Anantharam (Vice President – Poorvi Sangeeth Academy), and Dr. Ham Pa Nagarajaiah was introduced by Sri M K Krishna (Trustee – Poorvi Sangeeth Academy).
Dr. Ka Vem Srinivasamurthy was honored with Poorvi Puraskar 2024, a citation, Momentos, and a purse. Later he spoke on the occasion and thanked the academy for awarding him the puraskar and spoke about such music festivals to be organized not just for the sake of music but for bringing about all the people together. He highly appreciated the academy for its service in this field.
Pt. Vishwanath Nakod also spoke and wished the Academy all success in coming years.
The eminet writer and an octogenarian, Dr. Ham Pa Nagarajaiah spoke in high spiritis spilling out his wisdom which was apprecited by the audience throughout. He too mentioned that sugama sangeetha is not just about music but the thoughts and the poems should reach the common man depicting social welfare.
Sri Shamsundar H R (student of Poorvi) proposed the vote of thanks.
The music program continued further but had to be cut short due to shortage of time. All the above performances were par excellence with the credit going to the artists and their students of sugama sangeetha schools.
The whole program was a great success, which concluded at 1:30 PM with a sumptuous lunch for all numbering more than 150.
Everybody left with a good feeling and wishing Poorvi Sangeeth Academy on its achievements.
