Poorvi Sangeeth Academy celebrated its 13th year Anniversary program on 21.12.2025

Poorvi Sangeeth Academy recently organized 13th Anniversary program on Sunday 21st December 2025 at SEVA SADAN, 14th cross, Malleswaram, Bangalore-03.

The whole program commenced at 4:30 PM, with coffee and snacks refereshments for all.

Later around 5:00 PM after the arrival of the Chief Guest Prof K E Radhakrishna, the event kicked off with a very melodious invocation by the students of Hindustani vocal of Poorvi participated by Smt. Nalini Rao, Kum. Aditi Kashyap, Kum. Poorna and Kum. Hiteishri R V, trained by their guru Vid. Sangeetha Bhatkal, who also accompanied on harmonium.

Immediately thereafter the formal Lamp Lighting was done by the Puraskar awardee, Chief Guest and Trustees.

The program was anchored very efficiently by Smt. Jyothi Bhide.

Vid. B K Anantha Ram, Vice President of the Academy, welcomed the Awardee, Chief Guest and the gathering.

Then, Sri M K Krishna, one of the trustees read the report of the Academy, in the absence of Sri Hiremagaluru Pradeep.

Pt. Nandakumar Kurudi, the renowned Hindustani Vocalist, was awarded "Poorvi Puraskar 2025" by the Trustees and the Chief Guest with a shawl, Peta, Garland, Citation, Momento, Dry gruits box and a cash purse.

Later he spoke praising the Academy for its immense service continuously for the past 13 years not only by organizing such music programs but also by training students in various disciplines of the music.

Prof. K E Radhakrishna who was the chief guest praised Nandakumar kurudi about his simplicity, musical talent and knowledge and the lineage of his family. He thanked the academy for giving him an opportunity to address for the gathering.

With a formal vote of thanks by Sri Shamsundar, the sabha program came to an end. Pt. Nandakumar Kurudi started off his concert along with Pt. Ravindra Gururaj Katoti on harmonium and Pt. M Nagesh on Tabla. He rendered the following songs:

  1. Dhana Dhan bhag- Raag Gorakh kalyan – vilambit ek taal, drut teen taal Dekho dekho.
  2. Raag Nand – Madhya and drut laya ek taal – Bera bera chahat.
  3. Guru kripanjana – Raag Malkauns- St. Kabir das bhajan.
  4. Enagobba doreyu – Raag chaya nat – St. Purandaradasa
  5. Hari bolo bhai – Raag Bhairavi – Taal Bhajani tekha.

The concert was enjoyed by all the audience and left for their homes with a satisfaction.
