Poorvi Sangeeth Academy and Sunada Bharathi jointly organized the Dr. Mani Krishnaswamy Memorial Music concert on Sunday July 12th 2026

Poorvi Sangeeth Academyand Sunada Bharati had recently organized 5th Dr. Mani Krishnaswamy Memorial Music Concert on Sunday 12^thJuly 2026 at SEVA SADAN, 14^th cross, Malleswaram, Bangalore-03.

The event commenced at 10:30 AM with an invocation by Kum.Shraddha, Kum. Surabhi, Kum. Smrithi and Kum.Ananthasri. Formal Lamp Lighting was done by the Trustees, and Artists present. The program was anchored by Smt. Yashaswini Kumar.

Vid. B K Anantharamwelcomed the audience and introduced the artists of the  event, who were Vid. Srikantham Nagendra Shastryon Vocal(a very senior artist), Vid. Hosahalli Raghura on Violin, Vid. K Harinarayanon Mrudanga, and Vid. Omkar Rao on Ghata. They are all senior,  leading and popular artists in Bangalore

Without wasting any time, the concert started off immediately with the following krithis :

1. "Mayateetha Swaroopini" ofPonnayya Pillai in raaga Mayamalavagowlaset to Roopaka taala
2. "Sanatana Parama pavana " ofSaint Thyagaraja in Phalamanjari raga set to Adi tala.
3. " Dharmaatma nannipudu " of by St. Thyagaraja in raaga Kedara gowla set to Khanda chhapu tala.
4. " Darushanavanu kodelo" of  Vidya Prasanna Teertharu in raga Maleyamarutha set to Adi tala.
5. "Paraakela jesevo parama dayalu " of Tiruvettiyoor Thyagayya in raaga Gowri manohari set to Roopaka  tala.
6. " Pahi ramachandra raghava " of St. Thyagaraja set to Roopaka tala.

With a vote of thanks by Vid. Rekha Prasad who was the main organizer of Sunada Bharati and the main architect of the concert in memory of her guru Dr. Mani Krishnaswamy, was all praise for the artists and her guru. She gave a glimpse of her mentor and guru’s disciplined life and teachings which made her a better karnatic vocal artist, teacher and guide for the generations to come.

All the audience left the auditorium with a feeling of happiness after listening to the divine music concert,  and also the sumptuous lunch provided bu Sunada Bharathi. On the whole, the entire event went off successfully.
